Cisco CCNA Router Configuration Basics


Full Description
This unit introduces you to the internal components of routers. You will learn about the information stored by the different router components and about the LAN and WAN interfaces on a router that provide network connectivity to the router. This unit also describes the initialization process as well as the different configuration sources. You will learn how a router can be configured from the console port, the auxiliary port, a network management station, a TFTP server, or from virtual terminals. You will also learn the Cisco IOS commands that are used during router startup and the functions of the different router modes are also covered. Finally you will learn the main commands that can be executed from each mode.


Outcomes:
Students should at the end of this course be able to describe Basic router configuration, functions and commands necessary to install configure and manage a Cisco Router in a network environment.


Assessment:
Students are presented with pre-course test to determine their knowledge before taking the course. During the course students will be presented with a series of quizzes to determine gained knowledge and retention of each section. At the end of the course students will be given a post course test to measure their overall understanding of the subject and retention of knowledge. By comparing their pre and post course test scores, students will be able to measure their knowledge gain.
