Module 1 Identify with technical communications including its audience-based orientation with a strong focus on subject matter, purpose, and infrastructure. Examine successful and effective writing styles and the editing process including reviews, sentence structure, and proofreading. Module 2 Gain a clear understanding of technical definitions and the context in which descriptions are employed. Create technical process, write procedures, develop instructions, and write specification documents by utilizing the appropriate resources. Plan, gather, and organize your information. Analyze complex information and learn effective methods to redirect and communicate for the appropriate audience. Module 3 Review the art of report writing and the components that are critical to its success. Prepare a report based on a case study. Revise and edit your report to eliminate mis-communicated or misaligned information that might otherwise create confusion for your readers or display poor quality.	Module 4 Use careful consideration in regards to visual rhetoric including perception, interpretation, and communication to present information to your readers. Apply the Gestalt principle in relation to the parts and the whole of a visual experience by understanding design concepts, visual analysis, and interpretation of data. Module 5 Employ the art of structured writing and apply the suggested methods for making information accessible on various levels such as linear and nonlinear components, symbols, icons, graphics, and data displays. Identify visual language by creating a 12-cell matrix with required elements. Module 6 Design your document for usability! Consider your rhetorical situation by using the three basic elements of audience, purpose, and context. Apply the six visual and verbal cognates to develop and design your communication - that is, arrangement of data, emphasis on information, clarity, conciseness, tone, and ethos. Consider specific redesign strategies to present your data and establish a solid path to the goals.	Module 7 Learn the value that publications management brings to the quality of your publications. Set standards based on the best practices currently available and consider the tools to ensure that productivity is not sacrificed and quality is genuinely enhanced. Consider the following five stages for effective publications management: information planning, content-specification, implementation, production, and evaluation. Module 8 Define a document production process. Create a sample project. Identify resources. Develop a Gantt chart to display the required timeline.
