Certified Preparer of Storm Water Pollution (CPSWPPP)


Full Description
The 18.5-hour, CPSWPPP computer based stormwater training and certification course educates and certifies you to prepare a Construction Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs).

As a CPSWPPP you will also receive a dual certification as a CCIS, which allows you to implement, inspect, and maintain construction sites for stormwater compliance.  This training covers the principals and practices of erosion and sediment control as well as the proper reporting and documentation requirements for ensuring compliance under the NPDES Construction General Permit.

This course has been reviewed and recognized by the EPA and is a Level 300 United States Green Build Council approved course.


Outcomes:
The CPSWPPP certification course covers the principles and practices of erosion and sediment control as well as the methods necessary to prepare SWPPPs so you can:

  • Make proper and informed decisions on the information included in the preparation of a complaint SWPPP. 
  • Measure the design needs of the site due to soils, type and size of construction projects, and the principles and practices of erosion and sediment control design techniques. 
  • Describe and understand the proper installation, maintenance and inspection of best management practices on a construction site.
  • Assess a construction site to determine proper stormwater compliance and provide assistance and leadership to construction workers as how to maintain stomwater compliance throughout a project’s entirety.
  • Understand the teamwork and communication necessary between owner, operators and SWPPP designer so the site stays in compliance throughout the construction project.


Assessment:
Learners are required to complete a 25 question exam after each of the six (6) course sections.  Learners must pass the exams with a 75% or greater over a 90 minute timeframe.  Learners have an unlimited amount of attempts to pass exams.  After a failed attempt, new randomized exams are generated from a pool of questions from that course section.
