The Professional Medical Transcription course is widely known as the most effective training method to become a medical transcriptionist.  It was developed by a company who was in the medical transcription business for 26 years.  It provides:
  • The course follows the AHDI (AAMT, American Association of Medical Transcription) standards for training
  • Exactly what is needed to learn in a "platform learning system" unique in the training field
  • All of the reference materials required to learn medical transcription are included in the course
  • No memorization is required as all teaching is done with contextual learning using multisensory tasking (keyboard, listening and seeing)
  • Actual physician dictation not professionally dictated reports so you are trained in the real world of dictation
This course has been used to train hundreds of MTs, including the authors of other training programs. This is online learning at its best.

The training course will prepare you very well for anything that requires medical transcription or medical terminology. With over 300 hours of transcription practicum (actual physician dictation) [most courses have 100 hours], you will be well prepared to work in the field.  Over 70% of medical transcriptionists work at home as “contract” employees.  Many graduate MTs set up home businesses and acquire their own clients.  Plan to work for:
  • Doctors
  • Hospitals
  • Clinics
  • Disability Determination Units
  • Legal malpractice firms (personal injury)
  • Insurance companies
  • Government entities

What you will need:  Unlike most other courses, no additional books are required since the references are available online within the course itself.
