Course Description
Blackboard Basics is a twenty-one day online course which is designed to not only teach you about the online classroom but to immerse you in it so that you are experiencing and discovering the environment from all aspects possible. This course will help you learn how to develop and to manage your course using Blackboard 6.

This course is offered by a State Accredited University and offers State Board Continuing Education credits for Michigan teachers. If you are located in a state other than Michigan, please check to see if your State Board will honor the Continuing Education Credit. The course provider will be happy to provide you with appropriate documentation.

This course is designed for K12 teachers but the concepts and examples will translate for any online course developer.

Outcome
After completing this course, you will:

  • Be familiar with the process and procedures online teaching presents
  • Be able to add, edit, and delete Announcements, Course Information, and Course Documents
  • Be able to enter Staff Information, External Links and design your Course Settings
  • Be able to communicate using the Discussion Board, Virtual Classroom and Email features
  • Be able to create Assessments and use the Online Gradebook

Assessment

Grading Policies:  This course is self-directed and assessments are graded immediately upon completion. Please check your success in the Tools, Gradebook area. Assessments can be re-taken any time during the course. This course allows you to earn 2 SB-CEUs which is available to anyone completing the course with a 70% or better passing score.
